Kanye West

So a couple of those Kanye West Beat CDs from the “making beats for three summers” sessions have surfaced online. For those interested, its a fascinating lesson on how to IMPROVE as a producer, because quite frankly either these are highly incomplete highly unlikely, or they are simply the work of a producer who had not yet found their sound very likely.

Anyway, you’ll definitely hear a couple of jawns that got the proper production treatment.

Most importantly, everyone better thank D. Dot for taking this nigga under his wing, or Kanye would still be at that Gap at the Waterfront stealing Khakis.

FACT.

    ^^
the tapes i got are a mix of beat from some sort of transfer guessing from a cassette with all the cracking noise and feedback, beat CDs from 05, and the Original Donuts

  11. it isn’t even fair to compare those dilla tapes to something like this, to be honest.. (if we’re talking about the same ones)

the dilla tapes are like 72 beats… and i remember hearing them at full blast at my friends house and thinking “holy shit.. i know i said the last one was my favorite, but THIS one is the best man.. ”

and i repeated that process thru most of the 70+ tracks..

I submitted my application to the Dilla Stan Club that day

  12. a lot of the dilla beats in question were used for “jay stay paid”, if that can provide any insight as to which ones i’m talking about..

i know there’s a LOT of random and improperly tagged dilla instrumentals out there…

  13. Y’all should upload the old Dilla beat tapes.
