Covert Coup Artwork

Twitter leak from Currensy. First song off Covert Coup.

Point Blank: Alan the Chemist is a monster on the boards. The fact they are about to give something this level of quality for FREE should be an excellent signal for all Freddie Gibbs fans and Mobb Deep fans, as both parties are much better rappers, and I am anticipating much better than what Currensy will bring to the table.

Be clear tho, Currensy got kinda busy on this. I wasn’t too impressed with Pilot Talk 1 or 2, but I am excited to hear this, as the last full length Alchemist project was the Gangrene EP w/ Oh No, and I’ve yet to find a rapper I couldn’t enjoy over an Alchemist beat.

Really should check out those other Jim albums.

    ^

No you shouldn’t. IMO Jim’s highest quality material is contained on his first solo mixtape “Ryder Music” and his first official solo commercial album “On My Way to Church”. Although he has managed to put out a few noteworthy songs here and there, those two albums mentioned have the least amount of skipables. That fact that Jones has managed to rap worse with each successive album is still mind boggling to me. Jim, step your ghost writer game up!

No doubt. That jawn was on the old Makaveli mixtapes that came out after he died. Prolli one of my favorite Pac “songs” ever, just because it was literally him freestyling, drunk as fuck, and as a character study, it was HIM- the political side, the angry side, the human, Bishop, and the New York nigga in him, all exposed, and I thought that was really dope. I should prolli do a post on it, cuz honestly, i haven’t thought about it in a while.

So niggas want a Phillys Most Wanted, Journ and Sig? Journ might be kinda difficult cuz a lot of shit never left the city, so I don’t really have enough to make a compilation (and real rap, I doubt I could find it online), but I can try. If you want, just gimme some other niggas and I will combine them in a group, like NAAM Brigade, RAM Squad, FT, and Tracey Lee and just do a compilation on all of them.
